From 5-8pm Heather will be joining Alan Clarke and his wonderful trio for a jazz knees-up in the Loyal Toast in Eastwood. The last night they played there, customers were doing the charleston and were generally up for a fun night. It promises to be the same again with a fabulous band and lots of good banter!

As part of the Summer Jazz on the Pier series Heather will be singing with Dominic Ashworth, Jonty Fisher and Paul Sealy in The Guitar Galaxy. They will be paying tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass, Mary Ford and Les Paul and many other guitarist and vocal combos. The Daisy Bowlers will be performing the second of their residential series of afternoon concerts in Else’s cafe in the Leigh Community Centre. Music 2-4pm. Free admission. Wonderful cakes and sandwiches available.

Dave Cooke and Heather Simmons choir: The Cockleshell Chorus will be holding a concert in the Leigh Community Centre. The concert will be begin at 7.30pm and features the choir and individual acts. Last years concert sold out in advance so if you would like tickets please contact Heather (£5 each). This is a very enjoyable community evening with a high standard of musicianship.

Heather is singing as part of a fabulous RMS Titanic themed evening. The band will have some of this country’s finest musicians including Mike Piggott on violin. At the wonderful Vintage Car Show at The Lawn, Rochford, The Daisy Bowlers will be playing in the Orangery or out on the veranda weather permitting. They will be there all afternoon while sandwiches and cakes are served. It is a lovely family day out: looking at all the cars, visiting the stalls, lazing in the gardens and listening to music. Heather will be performing with The Alan Clarke Trio at the exquisite Arlington Rooms in Chalkwell Essex. It is a beautiful art deco venue and they serve a delicious Sunday Roast with the presentation of a top London hotel. If you would like to book tickets they are £16 pp for a 3 course lunch and jazz show or £8pp for jazz show only. The music is from 1-4pm.

Sunday, April 27th, 2014:

A very special event is happening !! The Palace Hotel in Southend (behind the Royals Shopping Centre) is hosting a tea-dance and the band is made up of this country’s finest jazz musicians. Martin Wheatley – who has played recently in the block buster film The Great Gatsby is with Heather on guitar. His son, Tom Wheatley, one of London’s finest up and coming players joins them on double bass, and Mike Piggott who is in my opinion better than Stephane Grappelli is on violin. The tickets for all this and a scrumptious cream tea buffet are only £15. Perhaps a ticket or two would make a lovely Mothers Day gift? …. Tickets are available from the hotel.

It is essential however to book for the afternoon tea as each time The Daisy Bowlers have performed they have sold out.

Wednesday, February 26th, 2014:

Tim Huskisson has put together a fabulous show of jazz through the ages. Heather will be singing songs as part of the show and playing saxophone with the brass section. It is a show that highlights some of the varied singing techniques of the early blues singers to the later smooth styles of artists such as Astrid Gilberto. The concert will be held at The Chichester Restaurant – Old London Rd, Basildon, Essex SS11 8UE as part of the regular Wednesday night Jazz program. Please contact the venue for tickets.

Heather is singing at Boisdale ( Belgravia) at 10pm -midnight with The Boisdale Blue Rhythm Band. Boisdale is one of the finest London Jazz Restaurants and this has been a residency for Heather for over ten years. Diners are advised to book and bar entry only is £10 after 10pm.

Sunday, February 16th, 2014:

Heather will be performing an afternoon of the American Songbook with some of this country’s finest jazz musicians at the stunning Arlington Rooms in Chalkwell. This beautifully refurbished art deco venue is now hosting headlining jazz acts whilst serving a two-course Sunday roast every Sunday. The music is from 1-4pm ( £16pp for dinner and jazz, £8pp for jazz only). Booking is advised.
